Match review

A last-minute change of fixture saw us travel to North Wales for a game against Deeside Dragons FC.

First-half

Both sets of players knew they were in for a tough time, not only against each other, but also against the wet and muddy pitch.

DDFC started off well and scored with an absolute rocket of shot, but CAFC equalised though loanee (from DDFC) Dan. We then took the lead  after Marco Carluchi bagged twice to go 3-1 up. Deeside Dragons were awarded a penalty, which was dispatched expertly, and spurred on the home side, who went on to score again to draw level in an exciting first-half.

Half-time score: DDFC 3-3 CAFC

Second-half

The goals didn’t dry up in the second-half either. DDFC changed their tactics which saw them get in behind the CAFC defence a number of times and score three goals to make the score 6-3.

CAFC netted through a Dan Buckley goal, but the comeback was short-lived as DDFC soon scored again.

There was a late surge from CAFC, with goals from Loanee-Dan and Marco (completing his usual hat trick).

The deficit was reduced to one, but DDFC managed to hold on to win.
