Match review
Military Minds and Cheshire Autism FC are brilliantly matched in terms of quality and spirit.
First-half
The first 20 minutes of the first half was end-to-end stuff, with both keepers making excellent saves. Marco was one-on-one with Military Minds’ keeper twice, but for once, couldn’t find the back of the net.
It was Military Minds who made the breakthrough, with Lewis Brownson beating Cam. Moments later, Liam Daly followed up with a superb strike from outside the box to double Military Minds’ advantage.
Half-time score: CAFC 0-2 MMFC
Second-half
After a tactical change at half-time by manager Danny Mills, Cheshire Autism started the second half well.
Scott Carter found himself one-vs-one with the keeper, but struck his effort straight at the goalkeeper.
Mark Eyes drew a foul in the box which resulted in a penalty for CAFC. Up stepped Jordan Coles, but the keeper guessed right and saved to keep the score at 2-0.
CAFC managed to half the deficit through Scott Carter, who scored with a lovely strike after cutting in from the right to make it 2-1. Was the comeback on?
Unfortunately not, as a penalty was awarded to give MMFC the chance to restore their two-goal cushion. Up stepped Military Minds’ keeper and captain, Lee Dudley, who scored to put the game to bed.
