CAFC lose out in a 9-goal thriller, but a win all-round for autism awareness.
FIRST-HALF
Supporting Charities came to the Grange Playing fields and meant business from the first whistle, so much so that they scored straight from kickoff.
CAFC were missing a number of their regular defenders and midfielders, and the lads that came in worked hard but that wasn’t enough to stop Supporting Supporting Charities going 2-0 up.
Just before half-time, the ref awarded a penalty to CAFC. The ever-reliable-Marco stepped up and made no mistake, halving the deficit and giving CAFC a lifeline in the game.
Half-time score: CAFC 1-2 Supporting Charities
SECOND-HALF
There was a goal-fest in the second half, Supporting Charities scored then CAFC scored, Supporting Charities scored then CAFC scored.
At 4-3, tiredness started showing for CAFC, and there was nothing we could do to stop supporting charities from scoring 2 late goals after some heavy pressure.
And it could have been more, had it not been for Danny Mills’ cat-like abilities on his debut in goal and our captain Paul Fletcher’s defending heroics.
Full-time score: CAFC 3-6 Supporting Charities
MAN OF THE MATCH
Our man of the match was Daniel Mills.
