Match review
With a few players coming back after a long absence, we traveled to Flint for a match against Hospice of the Good Shepherd FC.
First-half
We started with a 5-3-2 formation, welcoming back Marcell Edwards and Jordan Coles into the starting line-up, following lengthy spells on the sidelines.
Unfortunately, even nothing on the pitch nothing seemed to go to plan. Within the first 10 minutes, we found ourselves 2-0 down.
We were given a lifeline when Jordan ‘the goat’ Coles netted to make it 2-1 just before the first water break, in what felt like 100-degree heat.
HOTGS went 3-1 up after the break, which seemed to wake us up. There was a short period after that where we created some good chances, and the ever-reliable Marco scored to make it 3-2. The comeback was short-lived though as pretty much straight from the restart, HOTGS scored again to make it 4-2 before half-time.
Half-time score: HOTGSFC 4-2 CAFC
Second-half
In the second-half, we changed to a 4-3-3 formation, hoping that an extra player up top would create more chances.
Unfortunately, we found ourselves unable to keep hold of the ball In midfield and it quickly went downhill, 5-2 then 6-2.
Paul ‘el capitano’ Fletch scored to make it 6-3, which gave us a glimmer of hope of a comeback.
At the second water break, we changed to the old-school 4-4-2 formation to try and secure the midfield. Unfortunately, the changes didn’t work, and the last 20 minutes saw us concede another 2 two goals without reply.
Final score: HOTGSFC 8-3 CAFC
